At the end of a long dirt road, just outside Varberg, we met for the first dinner of the year. Right here the forest opens up, and we meet fantastically beautiful Rörbäck Forest Retreat
The buildings are designed with sense of the site, the light and the surrounding nature. It therefore felt natural to welcome our guests in the courtyard, in the middle of Rörbäck's beautiful environment. Here we could start getting to know each other before the evening's dinner.
The evening offered different environments and we started by walking to the beech forest where the long table awaited us for the first serving.
After bubbles and snacks, we moved to the grill station where guests could watch the preparation of the evening's dishes.
We were then able to sit down at the table in Rörbäck's incomparable glass house with a view of the grill station where Mattias prepared the evening's dishes over an open fire
To our delight, Rörbäck's owners Anna & Caspar Sandgren were at the dinner and could tell us how they have not compromised in either aesthetics or quality when creating Rörbäck.
Apart from the concrete floors, the buildings are entirely built with Swedish wood that has been left untreated to patina and age beautifully over time. Everything is carefully selected, with craftsmanship and solid materials in focus.
